Your clock starts when you cross the start line. Anyone passed by the end-of-race vehicle is declared out of the race and must follow the highway code on open roads. Aid stations stand every 5 km for each distance, and pacers wearing large feathers in their start area’s colour run the marathon at 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15 and 4:30. The half marathon has a 3 hour limit and the 10 km 1 hour 30 minutes.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.
