The finish is at the Queimodromo, next to Parque da Cidade do Porto, where the organiser keeps the finish-area wardrobe.

Height drawn many times taller than life. Heights: GEDTM30.

Course elevation profile, 8× vertical exaggeration Elevation along the course from km 0 to km 42. The trace runs between 3 and 33 metres, a range of 30 metres, drawn at 8 times vertical exaggeration so the shape is legible. Smoothed over 1 km before this profile was derived. An unsmoothed urban surface carries the buildings and would assert a climb that is not there. The dashed stretches are bridge decks: Ponte Móvel de Leça, km 7.7 to 8.1; Ponte Móvel de Leça, km 12.6 to 13; Via do Castelo do Queijo, km 17.5 to 17.8; Viaduto do Cais das Pedras, km 24.3 to 24.6; Ponte Luiz I (tabuleiro inferior), km 26.2 to 26.4; Ponte Luiz I (tabuleiro inferior), km 28 to 28.2; Viaduto do Cais das Pedras, km 34 to 34.3; Via do Castelo do Queijo, km 41.2 to 41.5. A bare-earth model reads the ground or the water beneath a bridge, not the deck the runner is on, so those runs are interpolated between the ground either side rather than measured, and they under-report the real climb across a span.

The 2026 race finishes at the Queimódromo, next to Parque da Cidade do Porto. The wardrobe is there too, next to the finish line: bags are handed in and collected at the same place, and the locker position follows the last digit of the bib number. At the finish there is water, solid food and beer.

km 0 to 5.5GradientThe one climb comes firstUp 23 m in the first 2.4 km, then sea and river level to the end.

The start on the seafront by the Castelo do Queijo sits at about 10 m. The first loop heads inland round Parque da Cidade and rises steadily to the course’s high point, 33 m at km 2.4, then falls back towards the sea: 16 m at km 4, 12 m at km 5.5 by the Matosinhos roundabout.

From there the course follows the water. Matosinhos, the port of Leixões and Leça da Palmeira stay between 5 m and 15 m; the seafront south to Foz between 6 m and 13 m. Along the Douro, from km 21 to km 38, the line runs between 3 m and 23 m, with its low point, 3 m, at km 30.2 at the turn by Freixo. The last kilometres back along the sea stay between 9 m and 14 m.

Over the whole race that comes to 133 m of climbing.
