The organiser’s course page puts the start and finish at the square in Trondheim. The route takes in parts of the city centre towards Lade and extends out to Tempe in the south. The half marathon runs one lap and the full marathon two. The full-marathon page describes the course as a controlled, measured distance with AIMS approval, and says two laps allow strong support from the audience each time the runners pass the partners.

Whole courseConditionsA new course for 2026: two laps, not fourNew in 2026: Kongens gate closed, the half has its own route, the marathon is two laps not four.

The organiser announced the new course at a public evening in front of several hundred people. The news item says that Kongens gate is closed, that the half marathon gets its own route and that the full marathon is run over two laps (not four). The marathon page calls Trondheim Marathon Norway’s oldest marathon, and the organiser’s pages name the first weekend of September 2027 as the next running.

The full-marathon page lists wave 1 for estimated times of 2:30 to 3:30 and wave 2 for 3:30 and over, and gives the age limit as 18 years. Runners can change distance or start wave themselves on their page in EQ Timing. Every participant needs a licence, either an annual one through a club in the Norwegian Athletics Federation or a one-time licence bought with the registration.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.

One in a pocket cushions a blister if one starts.

Put it on clean, dry skin and leave it until it comes off by itself.
