The organiser sets the marathon at 15,000 places at 14,000 yen. Okayama residents had a priority round of 4,000 places, with applications from 8 to 15 April 2026. The general round, open to anyone, took applications from 16 April to 18 May for 10,800 places, and the results went out on 16 June. Of the general places, 300 are set aside for people who live outside Japan, 250 of them in the marathon. A further 200 places were offered to people outside Okayama Prefecture who donated at least 50,000 yen to the prefecture, first come first served.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.
