The organiser sets the cut-off at 3 hours net time, aligned with the start time of the last wave. A closing bus follows the field at the pace of the 3:00 pacer, and anyone it overtakes has to board it, with the bib crossed out and no entry to the finish area.

Whole courseCrowdSeven corrals from 8:00 and aid every 3 to 4 kmCorral by pace, 8:00 to 8:41 starts; aid every 3 to 4 km.

Corrals are set from the pace entered at registration and are only open to runners of that pace, which keeps the first kilometres calmer. The organiser’s table runs from corral 1 (under 1:35:00, 8:00) to corral 7 (over 2:27:00, 8:41). Aid stations carry water, isotonic drink, banana, glucose and salt tablets, though not every item at every station, and personal refreshments cannot be dropped off. Every kilometre is signed on a 2 metre sign.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.

One in a pocket cushions a blister if one starts.

Put it on clean, dry skin and leave it until it comes off by itself.

Give a couple to whoever comes to cheer, so they are there at the km you need them.
