The organiser’s 2027 course is a modification of the one used from 2022 to 2026. It stays a two-loop course, but drops the at-grade Amtrak crossing and the repeated crossover at the intersection of Main Street and Pine Street. The organiser says 2027 also brings a wave start and a half marathon beside the marathon and the relays.

The organiser states that the marathon has been and will be USATF certified and sanctioned and a Boston Marathon Qualifier, and calls it statistically one of the fastest marathons in the USA. It says the course meets the new 2027 Boston qualifying standard for elevation drop, so finish times need no adjustment by the Boston Athletic Association.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.
