The organiser’s 2026 route page describes a course in the centre of Tampere, mostly on asphalt with some gravel paths, made of a base loop of about 7 km and two transfers of about 3.5 km from the stadium to the loop and back. The marathon ran both transfers and five laps. There were two aid stations about 3 to 4 km apart, with toilets at them. The 10 km started separately in Aleksandra Siltanen park, near Vapriikki.

The organiser’s rules give six hours for the marathon and four for the half marathon. Throughout the six hours the aid stations stay open, marshals cheer on the course, the timing clock runs and the finish area keeps soup on offer. Net time starts when a runner crosses the start mat.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.

One in a pocket cushions a blister if one starts.

Put it on clean, dry skin and leave it until it comes off by itself.
