The 42.195 km start and finish are both in Turin. From a start in the city centre the course leaves Turin for Moncalieri, Beinasco and Nichelino and comes back, so the marathon is a loop rather than a run from one town to another.

On the way it passes the Savoy residences and the Lingotto. The whole course is closed to traffic.

The route is FIDAL-certified and sits in the Italian national calendar, so a time run here counts as a certified marathon time.

Pacers run the 2026 race at 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:30, 5:00 and 5:30, carrying a bib and a balloon with their time on it.

For 2026 the gun was set for 8:30 on Sunday 29 November and the time gate at the half-marathon mark for 11:45, 3 hours 15 minutes later. A runner passing it on time had 2 hours 15 minutes for the second half before the 5 hours 30 minutes limit.

The timing mats read at 10 km, 21.097 km and 30 km, plus one surprise mat placed to catch anyone who cuts the course. Water stands at 5 km and 10 km; from 15 km to 40 km, every 5 km, there is also food and supplements. A runner can leave a personal bottle in a basket for any of those kilometres until 8:00.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.
