The marathon starts in front of Wakasaimo Honpo on the town road, turns in the Tsukiura district on National Route 230 and finishes behind Wakasaimo Honpo on the lakeside promenade.
The organiser gives the course as the Lake Toya shore marathon course of 42.195 km, and the main venue as the lakeside promenade plaza. Race reports quoted on the organiser’s page mention cherry and plum blossom beside the lake, forest sections and student volunteers at the aid stations.

Number cards and timing chips were sent out ahead of the race, runners were placed in start blocks by declared finish time, and finishers of the full marathon received a medal. Entry in 2026 went through RUNNET from 1 February to 8 March, with an earlier window for entrants who donate through the hometown-tax scheme. The organiser also ran paid buses from Sapporo and New Chitose Airport, about 2.5 hours to the venue.
