The 2026 Yichang Marathon is on 1 November, starting at Heping Park at 7:30 AM. The organisers set a field of 16,000: 4,000 in the marathon, for runners aged 20 and over, and 12,000 in the half marathon, for those aged 18 and over. The marathon closes at 6 hours and the half at 3 hours. Places beyond the quota were decided by a draw, with results on 16 September.

For the first time the marathon prizes cover the first 80 men and 80 women, from 300 to 20,000 yuan by finishing time. The half marathon still pays the first 8 of each. Local residents have their own prizes for the first 8 men and women home in each race. The race began in 2016 and the announcement lists a World Athletics Elite Label among its awards.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.

One in a pocket cushions a blister if one starts.

Put it on clean, dry skin and leave it until it comes off by itself.

Give a couple to whoever comes to cheer, so they are there at the km you need them.
