The organiser describes trails that cross rivers and ravines at the foot of the Pichincha volcano, a climb towards the Las Palmas Rio Blanco Reserve with views of the Lloa valley, then Cruz Loma and a descent into the historic centre, where “mountain and history converge”. The route reaches the high-altitude paramos of Pichincha, home of the Andean bear. Gun time is 01:30 on Saturday 31 July 2027 in Mindo, with 20 hours allowed.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.

Put it on clean, dry skin and leave it until it comes off by itself.

Give a couple to whoever comes to cheer, so they are there at the km you need them.
