Kreuztor

The route runs through the Kreuztor to a turning point near the Von der Tann Straße and passes it again on the way back.

Height drawn many times taller than life. Heights: GEDTM30.

Course elevation profile, 8× vertical exaggeration Elevation along the course from km 0 to km 21. The trace runs between 366 and 377 metres, a range of 11 metres, drawn at 8 times vertical exaggeration so the shape is legible. Smoothed over 1 km before this profile was derived. An unsmoothed urban surface carries the buildings and would assert a climb that is not there. The dashed stretches are bridge decks: Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke, km 2.7 to 2.8; (unnamed span), km 7.3 to 7.5; (unnamed span), km 14.3 to 14.4; Donausteg, km 17.9 to 18; Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke, km 19.1 to 19.2. A bare-earth model reads the ground or the water beneath a bridge, not the deck the runner is on, so those runs are interpolated between the ground either side rather than measured, and they under-report the real climb across a span.

Whole courseGradientAn 11.5 metre range along the DanubeLow point 365 m at 10.0 km; high point 377 m at 20.0 km.

The route starts at about 374 m beside the Danube and finishes at about 375 m, so the start and finish sit at almost the same height. The lowest point is 365.5 m at 10.0 km and the highest is 377.0 m at 20.0 km, a relief of 11.5 m. The organiser describes a course through the Donaudamm, the Baggersee and the Glacis as well as the middle of the city, and sends runners over the Danube on the Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke and again on the Donausteg.

Measured

Whole courseLandmarkOut and back through the Kreuztor, then the BaggerseeKreuztor turn, Haunwöhr embankment, Baggersee, then the Danube promenade.

The 2026 course opens over the Rathausplatz and the Moritzstraße to a turning point near the Von der Tann Straße, then crosses the Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke to the Parkstraße and the Glacisbrücke. A path beside the Luitpoldstraße and the old railway embankment leads toward Haunwöhr before the route returns to the Danube and circles the Baggersee clockwise. The way back takes in the Glacis, the Schlosslände and the riverside promenade, and a second turn at the Kreuztor precedes the finish on the Theaterplatz. Start and finish are 300 m apart.

The 2026 race started at 17:00 on the Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke, and the finish closed at 20:00. The organiser lists pacers for 1:30, 1:45, 2:00 and 2:15, five aid stations roughly every 3.5 km, and water, electrolyte drinks, alcohol-free Erdinger and fruit at the finish. Every finisher receives a medal, and the changing area is in the Festsaal of the Stadttheater.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.
