On the 2026 course the 30 km trail ran from Eybens to the Domaine Départemental de Vizille with 1,000 m of climbing and the high point at Bellevue, km 23.
The 2026 30 km started at the Gymnase Roger Journet in Eybens and reached the forest paths of the Frange Verte, with the first aid station at Champagnier (km 11). It then went by Jarrie Clos Jouvin and up to the summit of Bellevue at km 23, which the organiser calls the high point of the edition, with views over Belledonne and the foothills of Chamrousse. A second aid station at Montchaboud (km 24.5) comes before a descent to the finish in the Domaine Départemental de Vizille, along shaded avenues and the lake, in front of the 17th-century château.

The 20 km also starts in Eybens, at the same gymnasium as the 30 km, and goes by Jarrie into the runnable part of the route. The first aid station is at Champagnier (km 7.5) and the Clos Jouvin (km 10) is where relay runners hand over. The second aid station is at Montchaboud (km 14.5), after which the course turns to a flowing descent to the Domaine Départemental de Vizille. Both the 20 km and the 30 km finish at the same place.

The event bills itself as following in the footsteps of Napoleon, and says the route takes the famous Route Napoléon and recalls the origins of the French Revolution between Grenoble and Vizille. On 21 July 1788 the Estates of Dauphiné, 540 representatives of the three orders, met in the Jeu de Paume hall of Claude Perrier’s château at Vizille and adopted voting by head, a step the organiser calls decisive on the road to the national Estates General of 1789.
