From the start the route crosses the Flisvos marina, runs out along Poseidonos Avenue towards Alimos and turns at Amfitheas Avenue. It returns to the Trocadero tram stop, goes by Agia Skepi and the Agios Georgios park to the Esplanade, then runs the road towards the Peace and Friendship Stadium and back to Agia Skepi. The second turn is at the Flisvos marina and the finish is on the track inside the sports centre.

Water stations stand at the start and about every 2.5 km along the half marathon route. A runner who passes the limit may carry on along the pavement at their own risk.

The organiser calls the route one that passes the best sights of the Faliro Bay waterfront, and says it knows of no comparable course with a rooftop path laid with tactile guidance for blind people.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.

One in a pocket cushions a blister if one starts.

Put it on clean, dry skin and leave it until it comes off by itself.

Give a couple to whoever comes to cheer, so they are there at the km you need them.
