The organiser’s 2026 rules give the marathon route as an ordered list of streets rather than a map. It starts at the junction of Taihu Avenue and Yinxiu Road and runs on Hongqiao Road, Zhongnan West Road, Yinxiu Road and Shuanghong Road to Huanhu Road. The lake shore follows on Jianzhu Road, Shili Fangti and Yuantouzhu Road. Shanshui East Road, Gaolang West Road and Yuanxi Road lead on to Zhenze Road and the south gate of Jiangnan University, and the course continues along Central Avenue and the streets around the campus.

This is the 2026 route, run on 22 March 2026.

Whole courseTacticsOut and back on Wudu RoadWudu Road is run twice: out to a turn near Lide Road, then back.

The 2026 rules send the marathon from Jiangnan Avenue and the university’s east gate onto Wudu Road, “near the Lide Road junction, turn left and double back” (近立德道路口左转掉头), and then back along Wudu Road before a right turn onto Xincheng Road.

That is the route of the 2026 race, run on 22 March 2026.

The 2026 rules limit the marathon to 27,000 runners and start them in three waves at 07:00, 07:20 and 07:40, with each start zone going off at its own time. Zones follow the best marathon or half-marathon time from a certified race in the two years before. The elite runners go in the first wave.

On the 2026 route the closing stretch leaves Hefeng Road for Lixin Avenue, passes through the greenway of the Gonghu Bay wetland park, turns right onto Gancheng Road and then right again onto Lixin Avenue. Qingyuan Road and Qingshu Road follow, and the finish is at the Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center, which is also where runners collected their race packs.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.
