The 2024 Lhasa Half Marathon gathered at the Tibet Autonomous Region Convention and Exhibition Center, with the half marathon, the fast run, the fun run and the charity roller-skate and wheelchair groups starting together.
In 2024 the runners assembled at the convention and exhibition center, with the roads around it closed to traffic. The events line up in order: half marathon, fast run, fun run, then the roller-skate and wheelchair groups, which may only enter the fun run. A single gun starts everything. The half marathon course has seven timing mats and the fast run three.

Under the 2024 rules the top ten men and women in the half marathon took their places on gun time and all other runners on net chip time, while the fun run was not timed. Runners had to cross every timing mat, and a result missing any of the seven on the half marathon course was cancelled. Foreign elite runners needed their original passport.
