The 10 km runs west from Algés to Oeiras along the Avenida Marginal. Almost all the climbing comes in the first third: the road rises about 29 m between 1.6 and 3.2 km, and after 5 km the road stays below 15 m.
Measured
The organiser also gives an average gradient of 1.7% uphill and 1.5% downhill. Its ascent counts every short rise, which is why it runs well above the 46.5 m of climbing in the course record.
