km 0 to 21.1GeometryFrom the Malieveld to the sea and backOut through the city's districts to the coast, along the beach front, then back to the Malieveld.

The organiser describes the half marathon in one line: “Je loopt van het Malieveld door diverse Haagse wijken richting de boulevard van Scheveningen om vervolgens weer te finishen op het Malieveld.” Every distance starts on the Koningskade beside the Malieveld.

On the 2026 course the road leaves the Koningskade for the Mauritskade and the Carnegieplein, runs out along the Groot Hertoginnelaan and the Valkenboslaan, and continues on the Oude Haagweg and the Segbroeklaan. It reaches the coast on the Westduinweg after about 13 km, runs through the Vissershaven streets near km 15 and then follows the Strandweg and the Kurhausweg along the beach front to about km 17. The way home is the Plesmanweg and the Raamweg, and the finish is at the Malieveld.

km 0 to 21.1GradientNever above 10 m: 18.6 m of climbing in 21 kmBetween 1.9 and 9.5 m all the way, with the highest ground at the coast around km 14.

The start on the Koningskade is at about 3 m. The road rises gently to about 6 m near km 2, sinks to the lowest point of the course, about 2 m, near km 6, and stays between 2 and 6 m through the middle of the city. The high ground is at the coast: from about 4.6 m at km 12 the road climbs to the highest point of the course, about 9.5 m, on the Westduinweg around km 14, and stays between about 6.6 m and 9.5 m along the dunes and the beach front until about km 18. After that it drops back to about 3 m for the finish at the Malieveld.

A watch that adds up every short rise reads more than 18.6 m. The figures are for the 2026 course.

On its half marathon page the organiser calls the course “één van de snelste ter wereld” and adds: “In 2023 liep Abdi Nageeye hier het Nederlands record.” The course records it lists are Samuel Wanjiru’s 58:33 from 2007 and Lornah Kiplagat’s 1:06:56 from 2000.

The road never rises above 9.5 m, and the highest ground is the coastal stretch around km 14.
