km 0 to 21.1FinishStart and finish on Piazza CastelloOne square for the gun, the finish funnel and the bag drop.

The organiser’s rules put the start and the finish of the half marathon in the same place: “Partenza ore 8.30 da piazza Castello”, and “L’arrivo della gara è presso Piazza Castello”. After the line, on the same square, come the first refreshment area and the athletes’ village, where the changing tents and the bag drop are; the rules ask finishers to keep moving down the funnel rather than stop and crowd the line.

km 0 to 21.1GeometryOne turn at Piazza Buonarroti, then back the same wayOut to one turn in Piazza Buonarroti, then the same streets home.

The route page lists the course street by street, with the kilometre marks. After Viale Gadio the first kilometres run along the Bastioni di Porta Volta, Porta Nuova and Porta Venezia, then Viale Bianca Maria, Viale Regina Margherita, Viale Beatrice d’Este, Porta Lodovica and Piazza XXIV Maggio. By 9 km the list is on Viale di Porta Vercellina, and after Piazza della Conciliazione and Via del Burchiello it reaches the “Giro di boa” in Piazza Buonarroti, between the 10 and 11 km marks. From there it names the same streets in reverse to the finish on Piazza Castello. The page marks refreshment points on Viale Regina Margherita, Via del Burchiello, Viale Beatrice d’Este and the Bastioni di Porta Volta.

The rules give the limit in one sentence: “Il tempo massimo di gara è stabilito in 3 ore e 30 minuti.” Runners who pass the km 10 gate later than 1 hour 30 minutes, or the km 15 gate later than 2 hours 15 minutes, “saranno invitati a fermarsi dagli addetti”, and after that point the organiser does not guarantee the closed roads or the services on the course. The rules also name timing points at 5, 10 and 15 km.

Whole courseLandmarkThe 10 km and 5 km start on Piazza del DuomoBoth shorter races go from the Duomo to the Arco della Pace.

The organiser lists the same opening for both: from Piazza del Duomo along Via Mengoni and Via Santa Margherita to Piazza della Scala, then Piazza Meda, Corso Matteotti and Piazza San Babila. The 10 km carries on along Corso Venezia to Piazza Oberdan and Viale Majno, then Viale Bianca Maria, Viale Regina Margherita, Porta Lodovica and Piazza XXIV Maggio, then Piazza Conciliazione, Via XX Settembre and Viale Molière, Viale Alemagna and Viale Milton to the arch. The 5 km turns off Corso Venezia into Via Palestro and reaches Largo Cairoli and Piazzale Cadorna by Via Montenapoleone and Via Manzoni, with Viale Alemagna and Viale Milton to the arch at the end. In 2027 the home page gives the 10 km start as 10:00 and the 5 km as 10:30.
