Course elevation profile, 8× vertical exaggeration Elevation along the course from km 0 to km 21. The trace runs between 5 and 23 metres, a range of 18 metres, drawn at 8 times vertical exaggeration so the shape is legible. Smoothed over 1 km before this profile was derived. An unsmoothed urban surface carries the buildings and would assert a climb that is not there. The dashed stretches are bridge decks: Homerton Road, km 0.2 to 0.3; Homerton Road, km 20.7 to 20.8. A bare-earth model reads the ground or the water beneath a bridge, not the deck the runner is on, so those runs are interpolated between the ground either side rather than measured, and they under-report the real climb across a span.

The organiser says the 2026 entries sold out in under an hour. For 2027 a runner must either have run in 2026 or pre-register for access, since pre-registering is the only way to receive the link to buy an entry. Entries open in three separate windows, and general entries are sold at a single price for everyone rather than in tiers.
