The organiser describes the start at Anderson Park, down Westminster Street and Wharerangi Road to Park Island, where the first trails run around the base of the hill. Runners then follow limestone trails around the Ahuriri Estuary, cross the old rail bridge, wind through Westshore and cross Pandora Bridge into the Port of Napier. Past the port the route goes down the Napier coastline to Waitangi Regional Park, south toward the Clive River and the mouth of the Tukituki River, then along Beach Road and Clifton Road to the finish.
