The trace runs between 81 and 160 metres, a range of 79 metres, drawn at 8 times vertical exaggeration so the shape is legible. Smoothed over 1 km before this profile was derived. An unsmoothed urban surface carries the buildings and would assert a climb that is not there.

The first 8 km stay between about 83 m and 104 m, so the real climbing comes between 8 and 13 km, where the road goes from 104 m up to 160.3 m. After the turn the same height comes back off: about 125 m at 15.8 km, 94 m at 19 km and a low point of 81.0 m at 20.8 km, just before the finish. From the turn the road only comes down.

Entrants must be 17 or older on race day, and the entry includes a finisher medal, chip timing and a goody bag.

An invisible layer before the start keeps seams, straps and shoes from rubbing skin raw.

Put it on before you leave for the start: heels and toes, inner thighs, under a bra or heart-rate strap.

Try it on a long run first, like everything you use on race day.
