If you have a bookmark for the Paris Marathon, it no longer works. The address most
people hold, schneiderelectricparismarathon.com, answers a server error on every
page, and has done since at least mid-August. It is not a temporary outage. The race
changed hands.
What happened
Amaury Sport Organisation had run the Paris Marathon since 1998. The City of Paris put the concession out to tender, and in May 2026 the council awarded it to Cadence Running United, a consortium of Havas Events, Keneo and Avena Event, for the 2027 to 2030 editions. A.S.O. challenged the award in the Paris administrative court and lost: its application was rejected on 3 July 2026, with costs.
ASICS replaces Schneider Electric as title partner at the same time, so the race is now the ASICS Marathon de Paris, and the live site is asicsmarathondeparis.com.
The date, and the date that is wrong
Sunday 4 April 2027. The fiftieth edition.
The organiser states it twice on its own pages: in the FAQ (“The 50th edition of the ASICS Marathon de Paris will take place on April 4, 2027”) and in the lottery rules dated 10 September 2026, which are a legal document.
Several listing sites, travel packages and charity-place pages still carry 11 April 2027. Some of them still call it the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris. If you are booking flights or a hotel against a page that says 11 April, you are booking a week late.
Entry is a ballot now, and it closes on 30 September
The other thing that changed with the operator is how you get in. Paris used to sell places first-come, first-served. For 2027 it is a lottery: entries opened on 8 September 2026 at 14:00 Paris time and close on 30 September 2026 at 23:59. Entering early does not improve your odds, and the rules say so explicitly, but entering after the deadline is not possible at all.
Selected runners are told by email and have 72 hours to pay before the place goes.
What is still unknown
A new operator starting from scratch means most of race weekend is genuinely not decided yet, and the organiser says so rather than recycling last year’s:
- The course. The FAQ answer is “Not yet. The 2027 course will be announced at a later date.” Press reporting suggests early 2027, and even the traditional Champs-Élysées start is described as unconfirmed.
- Start and finish arrangements, waves, and corral times.
- The expo, its dates, its hours, and where bibs are collected. The 2026 expo was at Porte de Versailles under A.S.O.; with a new operator that is not a safe assumption.
- Cut-offs and the time limit.
None of that has a published answer today, from anybody. A page that gives you one for 2027 is either quoting the 2026 race or guessing.
